Howdy,

Flatpack Festival is another one of those great midlands based festivals that takes place each year, so we’re delighted to announce that a selection of our audience choice and runners up programme will be screened on Thursday 15th & Friday 16th March, 12pm both days at Cafe Costes

The short compilation showcases some of the Audience Choice winners and runners up from Flip 2011 and include; a story of creation from Kenya The Legend of Ngong Hills (dir. Kwame Nyong’o), a very nosey elderly couple John & Betty (dir. Alex Hancocks & Luke George), unwelcomed advice in Dead Bird (dir. Trevor Hardy), a trippy dream from Tel Aviv Iluzia (dir. Udi Asoulin & Uriah Naeh), as well as a new take on Robin Hood (dir. Ben Smith), and locally produced Caged (dir. Ravi Maheru) and Overtime (dir. Gary Jones).

Sadly not all films are able to be shown due to the content and timing of the screening, so here’s a special thanks to Francesca Adams, Bertie Crisp and Sarah Van Den Boom, The Skeleton Woman for your quick responses and cooperation – Animation’s not just for children!

If you would like to host a screening party of the full Flip 2011: Audience Choice & Runners Up, at your university please get in touch with us flip@light-house.co.uk

Flatpack festival runs from 14th – 18th March , here’s a few other animation highlights that will be featured across the fesitval
